Want ideas to help your business run smoother?
Join thousands of owners getting simple, practical tips each week on how to connect operations and finance, save time, and grow with confidence.
Why keep struggling when your business could run smoother?
After working with hundreds of small business owners, I’ve seen the same problems again and again and they’re all fixable.
Most businesses I meet are:
-
Using outdated or disconnected systems that create double work
-
Spending hours chasing information between jobs, staff, and accounts
-
Missing calls or leads because nothing triggers the next step automatically
-
Waiting weeks for numbers that should be ready in days
That’s why I built AskJT to help small businesses join their operations and finance together so the work flows, the numbers are right, and growth becomes easier to manage.

Who is JT?
Justin Turner is the founder of AskJTÂ a practical business platform for owners who want their companies to run smoothly, not just look good on paper.
He also runs Orange Umbrella, a forward-thinking accountancy firm with a team of eight, helping UK SMEs tidy up their finances and build systems that actually work day to day. But Justin’s mission goes beyond accounting, he shows business owners how to create joined-up processes and use technology so their finance and operations work in harmony.
With a rare mix of skills: spanning finance, technology, project delivery, people management and teaching; Justin is one of the few specialists in the UK who can see both the numbers and the nuts and bolts of how a business runs.
Before launching his firm in 2012, Justin spent over a decade in web development and programming, experience that still shapes his hands-on approach to building modern, joined-up systems.
Alongside running his businesses, Justin teaches entrepreneurship and innovation at Northumbria University and mentors small-business owners through executive programmes. He's also one of the few trusted experts chosen to deliver finance on the government back management training initiative Help to Grow.Â
He’s is a qualified trainer through the Institute of Leadership and Management, known for turning complex ideas into practical steps that help business owners regain control and grow with confidence.
